Men's Shooting Waistcoats & Shooting Vests

We have a comprehensive range of men’s shooting waistcoats at Alan Paine whether you need one for shooting, beating or gamekeeping. Not only practical, they provide warmth and protection but our shooting vests will have you looking the part out on the field.

A shooting waistcoat or shooting vest is a year-round staple that can be layered underneath a shooting jacket during cold months, or just simply over a shirt in the summer.

Which Shooting Waistcoat Is The Most Lightweight?

Our Axford lightweight shooting waistcoat for men is part of our lightweight technical range that we introduced in 2020. It is made with a durable cotton twill with faux suede shoulder patches.

This shooting waistcoat makes an ideal choice for a warmer day as it is lightweight but can also be a great layer if it is cold. Being fully waterproof and machine washable, this lightweight shooting waistcoat is a functional garment. The Axford shooting waistcoat comes in two colours 'basil & new season colour 'glen'.

Combrook Vs Rutland Shooting Waistcoats

Our Combrook shooting waistcoats are an Alan Paine staple and part of our best-selling range. All are expertly crafted with 100% wool tweed. With soft suede shoulder patches, a water repellent outer and in 4 classic colourways these are a stylish & functional must have.

Our Rutland shooting waistcoats are ideal for a beater or gamekeeper and do not come with shoulder patches. These are made with a more durable tweed and comes with cartridge pockets, handwarmer pockets and internal pockets. Storage will never be an issue here.

What To Wear With A Men's Shooting Waistcoat

A shooting gilet is part of traditional style for an organised shoot. A shooting waistcoat should be paired with matching men's shooting breeks with a country style shirt, tie, and a pair of reliable boots & socks which can be worn on a warmer day game shooting, or whilst clay pigeon shooting.

The majority of game shooting will take part during the winter months where it will be essential to layer a men's shooting waistcoat under a durable men's shooting jacket. For those extra cold days, we recommend layering a men's shooting jumper underneath the waistcoat too. To finish off the look, at a matching shooting cap that will protect your eyes from the rain.

Find The Perfect Fitting Men's Shooting Waistcoat

All our men’s shooting waistcoats come within two fits:

1. Shooting Fit - Building into gilets 10" to 11" from actual chest size allowing movement & layering.

2. Regular Fit - Building into gilets 5" to 6" from actual chest size allowing layering.

For example, if you were a 42" chest and bought a size 42" Rutland men's shooting waistcoat (Regular Fit), the actual garment chest would measure 47" to accommodate layering. You will find the type of garment fit at the end of the product name.

We have exact measurements and international size comparisons for our shooting waistcoats on the product pages along with offering free UK extended returns should you need to change size.
